Violin Lesons With Ana!

Hi!  I am Ana,  27 years old.  I started playing violin when I was 5 , under the guidance of my father, also a classically trained  violinist.

After attending the musical Lyceum "Ciprian Porumbescu" in Rep. of Moldova,  I did my B.M.  at the Academy of Music, Theatre and Fine Arts, Republic of Moldova- Chisinau city, in Violin Performance.

Already in the University I started helping my teacher with young private students, by using the traditional method. I begun by improving little details in their playing and also cleaning their tecnique and  working on their musicality.

After graduating with my B.M. I came to Chicago , IL to pursue my Master Degree at DePaul University School of Music, Violin Performance.

At the moment I am a Violin teacher at Logos School of Music in Niles, IL.  I am also a member of the Northbrook Symphony, IL and graduating from DePaul School of Music with a new degree in June 2015, Performance Certificate in Violin Performance.

Although I am familiar with the Suzuki method, which features group classes, I preffer using  the old method. Learning to read  notes, rhythms is very important!

I think private classes are a must at an early stage of learning , when setting the right techinique, posture are the most important goals. But, of course , the lesson has to be fun, entertaining; and that's why I use different kinds of games, rewards, flash cards.

For the most young students I try to choose simple , fun songs , along with some scales and exercises. After the sudent feels confident in playing his instrument , I usually try to form small groups, ensembles , where they can have fun playing together.

I took String Pedagogy with Dr. Olga Kaler at DePaul University, which is an expert in the field. Consequently , I can work with any level of violin playing, starting as early on and continuing with preparing students for their college auditions and competitions.

I love teaching violin the most when I see my students perform recitals. Here is where I see my hard work matrerialized and I understand that my goal has been reached.

Playing violin is not the easiest , but together with the student and his parent we can be a strong team and enjoy creating new  music!
